Fundraiser- ROKIWHEELS For Lupita
I'm sharing this dear to me fundraiser for a dear to me friend, Lu Aguirre. We have been working together (as you may have seen before) for many years now on her recovery from a spinal cord injury. We have seen very promising reconnections and movement we never once thought possible per her diagnosis. Covid hasn't been easy (duh), as we have had to suspend sessions but during our break Lu has found equipment and has been approve to be a candidate for, ROKIWHEELS. This is an exoskeleton type machine that will help her with mobility via the machine, yes, but more importantly will help her gain and maintain muscles needed for walking. This is something she will be able to do on her own that will greatly improve her quality of life and our efforts of progressing her through her recovery. As many people know, insurance companies have been our biggest hurtle when self advocating for her recovery journey. This equipment is 100% funded out of her pocket and as a single mother of two, this seems daunting. This is why we are reaching out to our community to ask for your help.
